Our Commitment
Evolve Health & Wellness is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all visitors, including people with disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves equal access to information about their health and wellness options.
We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
Accessibility Measures
Evolve Health & Wellness takes the following measures to ensure the accessibility of our website:
- Accessibility is integrated into our internal development practices and content publishing process
- We use source-code remediation — not overlay widgets — to address accessibility at the code level
- All new pages and features undergo accessibility review before publication
- We conduct periodic manual and automated accessibility audits of our website
- Our team is trained on creating accessible content, including proper heading structure, alternative text for images, and descriptive link text
What We've Done
Our website has been designed and developed with accessibility in mind. Specific technical measures include:
- Semantic HTML structure for screen reader compatibility
- Keyboard navigation support across all interactive elements
- Sufficient color contrast ratios meeting WCAG 2.1 AA requirements (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
- Descriptive alternative text for all meaningful images
- Clear and consistent navigation throughout the site
- Skip-to-content link for keyboard users
- Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements
- Reduced motion support via the
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query for users who prefer minimal animation - Properly labeled form controls and buttons
- ARIA attributes on interactive components such as accordions, menus, and modals
- Structured headings that follow a logical hierarchy (h1 through h6)
- Responsive design that adapts to different screen sizes and supports browser zoom up to 200%
- Language attribute set on the HTML element to support screen reader pronunciation
Conformance Status
We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance across all pages. While we strive for full conformance, accessibility is an ongoing effort and we continuously identify and address areas for improvement.
Known limitations
The following areas are currently being monitored or addressed:
- Third-party content embedded from external platforms (such as our Zenoti booking system) may have accessibility limitations outside our direct control. We work with our vendors to encourage accessible design and provide alternative access methods for affected users.
- PDF documents linked from our website may not be fully accessible. We are working to ensure all documents meet accessibility standards and can provide content in alternative formats upon request.
When we identify accessibility issues, we prioritize them based on their impact to users and remediate them as quickly as practical. Critical issues affecting core functionality are addressed within 30 days of discovery.
Assessment and Auditing
We assess the accessibility of our website through a combination of automated testing tools and manual evaluation techniques. Our approach includes:
- Automated scanning using industry-standard accessibility testing tools
- Manual keyboard navigation testing across all pages and interactive components
- Screen reader testing to verify content is properly announced and navigable
- Color contrast verification across all text and interactive elements
We conduct comprehensive accessibility reviews on a regular basis and after any significant updates to our website.
Assistive Technology Compatibility
Our website is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
- Screen magnification software
- Speech recognition software
- Keyboard-only navigation
- Browser zoom up to 200%
- High contrast mode and system-level dark mode preferences
